U11 Match report form Martin N….

On an overcast morning with threatening clouds overhead, a young Middleton side won the toss and elected to field against a full strength Chichester side. Early optimism was dampened by an injury to Ethan D that prohibited him from fielding but although down to 7 in the field, Will bowled with his usual enthusiasm and took a wicket with his 4th ball of the over. The Chichester innings consisted of lots of extras, a few wickets and a lot of boundary hitting resulting in them finishing on a net 200 having lost 4 wickets. Notables were some great keeping from Charlie Stewart, accurate bowling from Neo and a first wicket for Ethan K.
Middleton struggled against some accurate fast bowling in their innings but Will, opening the batting played well for 20no including a big 6 and two 4’s. Wickets fell throughout the middle of the innings until Marcus came in and smashed 8 boundaries in a top score in the match of 33no. The innings closed on a net 145 having lost 8 wickets.
Result – Lost by 55 runs
Thank you to Jim for scoring.
