Middleton Emerging Players Academy 2017.
After the success of last years programme, I am pleased to announce the Emerging Players Academy will be running again this winter. The EPA is aimed at junior players at Middleton who the coaches feel would benefit most from more specialist sessions in order to achieve the potential they have. In order for the players to get the most out of these sessions numbers are very limited, a maximum of 4 players will be selected to take part in this programme. Any Middleton junior cricketer between the school years of 7 and 11 can apply, however it must be stressed that the intensity and effort required would be greater than Middleton junior sessions, of which this course will run along side. As a result, a higher level of commitment will be needed from the players.
This programme will start at the beginning of February and will consist of eight 1.5-hour sessions on a Saturday morning,10am-12midday at the indoor cricket centre, Arundel Castle. Will Burrows and Brian Towner will be the lead coaches, however other coaches, with professional cricket experience will be brought in throughout the eight weeks. This is a brilliant opportunity for the players to speed up their development by receiving a higher level of technical coaching, as well as working together in a small group where the coach to player ratio will be very high.
A trial process will take place on the 7th January and successful players will be notified by the end of January. If your child is willing to be nominated however cannot make that date please apply anyway, an additional trial can be put on if necessary.
If you have any further questions, or would like to nominate your child to attend a trial please email firstname.lastname@example.org. When nominating your child, please state why they would like to be nominated and how they would use the programme to best develop their cricket.
Thank you, and have a very merry Christmas
Middleton Cricket Club, Coach.
