After discussions between the Middleton CC committee and its coaches, we are pleased to announce an Emerging Players Academy will be starting this winter.
The EPA is aimed at junior players at Middleton who the coaches feel would benefit most from more specialist sessions in order to achieve the potential they have. The project is geared towards supplying home developed players who will play for our senior teams at the highest level.
In order for the players to get the most out of these sessions numbers are very limited, a maximum of 4 players will be selected to take part in this programme.
Any Middleton junior cricketer between the school years of 7 and 11 can apply, however it must be stressed that the intensity and effort required would be greater than Middleton junior sessions, of
which this course will run along side.
As a result, a higher level of commitment will be needed from the players.
This programme will start at the beginning of February and will consist of eight 1.5 hour sessions on a Sunday afternoon at the indoor cricket centre, Arundel Castle.
Will Burrows and Brian Towner will be the lead coaches, however other coaches, with professional cricket experience may be brought in throughout the eight weeks. This is a brilliant opportunity for the players to speed up their development by receiving a
higher level of technical coaching, as well as working together in a small group where the coach to player ratio will be very high.
A trial process will take place on the weekend of 2/3rd January, times to be confirmed, and successful players will be notified by the end of January.
If you cannot make the trial dates, then please still apply, a further trial could be arranged.
If you have any further questions, or would like to nominate your child to attend a trial please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
When nominating please state why they would like to be nominated and how they would use the programme to best develop their cricket.
Thank you, and have a very merry Christmas
Middleton Cricket Club, Coach.
