U14 SJCF Day 3 Match report

Hi Everyone,
Just a very quick e-mail as I’m off to Gatwick in about 5 hours.
Another strong batting performance by our guys at the club today against a very strong East Preston team with a sprinkling of Worthing regional players thrown in – another compliment from the opposition reflecting the strength of Middleton these days.
Result: Match drawn after rain / lightening / thunder / hail stones forced the game to be abandoned at 7.00pm – as this was after 20 overs had been played the result stands with 5 points awarded to each team.
Middleton 227-8: Jack Dawling 96, Lewis Faint 27, Charlie Maginnis 25.
East Preston 193-7: Ben Taylor 3-30, Jay Cockaday 2-38.
Great all round performance in a game which could have gone either way.
Jack Dawling just missing his second century of the week with 96, Lewis Faint playing his most confident innings yet with an important 27 and Charlie Maginnis supporting with a rapid 25.
Well done to Matt Pearce, Thomas Robinson and Ted Eismark this week as they gain experience from playing with the U14 squad.
Another 3 wickets for Ben Taylor who has bowled exceptionally well this week and 2 for Jay Cockaday on his return from holiday.
Thanks to Pete for preparing another excellent wicket, to Jack Taylor for scoring and to all the Mum’s for an excellent tea.
