SJCF U11 Bowl team win a thriller at Findon.

A cracking low scoring thriller at Findon ended with Middleton winning by 1 wicket, Phoenix striking a full toss backward of square leg for 4, to end the jitters.

Findon batted first on a wet wicket, where batting was always difficult.

Straight bowling paid dividends as Findon were bowled out for 64.

Everyone bowled and Zac Cogger turned in a career best spell 3-1-4-2 and a run out.
Mention of a superb catch by skipper James Carter, catching the very dangerous Ollie Wadeson.

Low scores always difficult to chase and so it was!

With the coach insisting you must get forward…the Findon bowlers got to work, bowling very well.
Christian bowled by a good one by Sophie Whittington, County Girls U12 seam bowler.

A good partnership, by James and Murray took the score to 30.

Two shots by James through the offside, showed real class.

Bowlers Legge, Wadeson, turning it square and O’Brien, kept up the pressure.

The stumps were hit with regularity.

Enter Jurgens to join Phoenix and amid a few close calls, a partnership of 11 won the match.

Special mention to Elle Cogger playing at late notice and bowling two good overs.
It was great to see such team spirit.

Thanks to all at Findon CC, who provided the pitch and tea, after a request from Middleton.

We move on to St James tomorrow for the final match of the season.
