U10’s hard ball team return to form..

Tuesday evening saw a good game of hard ball cricket between Middleton and Findon, with MCC, winning by 39 runs. A reversal of fortunes from Saturday.

Middleton 166.  8 wickets lost= 40 runs, 106 runs scored.

Findon 139.     8 wickets lost-40 runs,  79 runs scored.

Findon without their key player, failed to match the quality of the Middleton team, who scored plenty of runs off the bat, with some great stroke play.

Opening, Sam Bell and Lewis Tetley scored 21 runs losing just 1 wicket.

The introduction of Christian Bellamy and James Carter, saw running between wickets that has never been seen before at MCC…seniors you should come and watch…! Creating panic in the fielding side, runs and overthrows were freely scored. The pair scoring 29 runs losing just 1 wicket.

Batters are now realising the benefit of playing straight and trying to punish the wide ball.

Findon made a good attempt at the total, but wickets fell regularly keeping the runs down.

The bowlers all performed well,  bowling straighter and taking wickets,  with fewer wides, the progress is clear to all.

Well done everyone,

We have one remaining league fixture V Midhurst away on 7th July
