Weekend Matches…reports

A good weekend for our young teams, with one win for the U12’s v East Preston, a low scoring match, with some good bowling and fielding, I understand Ollie Humphries, compiled a score of 18 batting a lot of overs, securing the victory. Well done.

The U10’s also played at EasPreston softball pairs, where we lost by 11 runs, to a good team. We had 4 players u9 or younger.

There were wickets for Phoenix, Jay 2, Murray, and 3 for Aaron. Also catches and a run out for Jay with a direct hit.

When batting,  runs were hard to come by, however, mention of James and Christian, who with some remarkable running between wickets and good shots, scored 36 runs and lost just 1 wicket.

Matthew and Holly came close to giving us a victory and causing EP some panic.

West Warriors U11.

On Sunday a number of our boys played for the West Warriors and performed well, Ben Taylor bowled well and took 2 catches, Matt Bellamy, bowled well and scored 10 not out.

Special mention to Jack Dawling wo captained the side, taking 4 wickets and top scoring with 39, batting over 30 overs as wickets tumbled, it has been mentioned by all involved what a fine mature performance for one so young.

We look forward to next weekends matches, u9’s and U10’s.

The festival fixtures are now published, so make sure you keep your diaries free for the u1/12 and 16 weeks, we have some great fixtures lined up.

We continue to welcome new players to training on Mondays, as we grow our colts section.

Well done to all who played and to  parents and families who continue to support us, not forgetting all the coaches and everyone who help to ensure everything takes place, groundsman, umpires and colts committee,

Thankyou,

Brian
