u12 v Arundel 5th Feb Match Report

Well following on from last week’s emphatic victory  over Littlehampton Middleton U12’s faced a strong Arundel team yesterday which  consisted of 6 under 12 players in comparison to the 2 that we  fielded.
 A
Alas, Arundel’s high  score proved too much for our boys and although a valiant late effort  threatened at one point to get close to the opposition’s total Arundel won by 23  runs. Amazingly this is the first indoor league defeat this group of players has  suffered in nearly two seasons.
A
Arundel 109-4
Middleton 86-5.
A
Runs for Lewis Faint 37 not out, Jack Dawling 16  and Dominic Hammond 9.
A
All the players bowled with Connor, Jack and  Lewis taking a wicket each and Dominic, in his debut for the team, bowled really  well. Unfortunately the bowling was not a tight as last week and wides became  Arundel’s second top scorer with 21.
 A
That said some excellent fielding was  witnessed with another 2 run outs recorded.
 A
The result means that Middleton’s U12’s now  have two wins from three matches with two games to play.
